About Me

Introduction

My name is Matt Holmes and I am a lifelong martial artist and active competitive fighter who is in love with the study, science and practice of all martial arts. My life has always revolved around training - from the age of 7 I was brought up doing Taekwondo and Western Boxing, and I am currently an active fighter focusing on Muay Thai and K1 Kickboxing. I invest nearly all of my free time and money into international training camps (Thailand 6x, Australia, Turkey) and love experiencing the different styles and training methodologies which can be seen around the globe - applying different aspects of them to my own craft.

I provide small group and individual classes which are suitable for first-time beginners or experienced fighters alike. Find me in London, where I focus on setting a foundation of sound fundamentals - such as footwork, distance control and combination striking - which will be progressed every session.

PT Sessions

Training specialities:

  • Muay Thai/Thai Boxing
  • K1 (kickboxing)
  • Western Boxing (punching only)
  • Strength and conditioning for fighters/sprint training
  • Distance running (5k, 10k, 21k)

My typical martial arts lesson involves:

  • Warm up - skipping or light jog
  • Mobility work pre-striking
  • Guided shadow boxing - where you will have the chance to explore and develop your own style without the pressure of a reactive opponent
  • Pad work - where you will get the chance to develop power and rythym hitting live pads
  • Techical/play sparring (optional) - where you get the chance to put your training into practice against a live opponent hitting back (light contact, 20% power)
  • Clinch work (optional) - the stand up grappling aspect of Thai Boxing

Tailored training

I recognise that training needs are individual – that’s why I offer dedicated one-on-one or small group training sessions to help you achieve your goals. My training sessions can take place in your home, office or in an outdoor space such as a park – whatever works best for you and your schedule.


I offer training for children and adults of all ages, and welcome students of all abilities – if it’s your first time simply let me know and I will guide you through the session at a suitable pace :)
